here is a lotion recipe i like to make with my daughter. it is a bit greasy, so it is better to use at night or when you have a few minutes to sit and let it soak in. that aside, it works really well on dry or dmamged skin… i bought the double boiler at the salvation army for about $1.31- i use it just for soaps and lotions, so i don’t have non-food items in my regular pots. we got a bunch of glass trinket boxes with lids (about 60-80 cents each…) that we use to pour the lotion into. makes great gifts!

HAND CREAM:

1 TBSP cocoa butter

2 TBSP beeswax

1/4 cup coconut oil base

1/2 cup +1 TBSP apricot kernel oil, almond oil, or similar

10-30 drops of any essential oil (optional)

melt ingredients in a double boiler, stirring until smooth. pour hot liquid into non-melting containers. it will start to set up almost immediately. wait until completely cool before using.
